posting characters to a servlet
Hopefully this is a simple problem. I have a jsp page with a form that is used to allow users to post info. Example, a customer can update their personal account details through this form. My problem is that when a user enters characters like ' " * < > - , etc... those characters either don't get included in the post or a servlet error occurs. If I post the exact same info without any special characters as mentioned above, it works just fine. The input is taken inside input text boxes and retrieved in the servlet as a string. Should I be doing something different
Hi! I noticed something about servlets in general: For example, when I'm on a servlet page and I do a refresh in (F5/Ctrl-R) I get the annoying POSTDATA warning message (if you click ok it'll resubmit, blah blah blah). Why is that How can one avoid it

Inserting into DB when last page loaded
I have done it but now one problem is that the values are automatically inserted in the database when the last page is loaded.
The last page includes the buttons, from that buttons after clicking Save button, the values should be inserted.
So i defined one html function to call the method for inserting the data and called that html function on the Onclick event of the button.
I can't understand what may be problem..
