Relink error while applying patches

I have already opened a tar and I relaize that the answer to this fix may not come from this forum. However, maybe a little insight.

I was applying the the following pacthes so that I may use Designer 6i repository. (Oracle 9.0.1.0.1, Soalris 8 64-bit)

1) Patch 2103726. ORA-03113 WITH CONNECT BY QUERY ON VIEW USING A FUNCTION
2) Patch 2154966. PLACEHOLDER FOR MERGE OF 1927642 AND 197804
3) Patch 2124536. PARAMETERIZED CURSOR USING DB_LINK IGNORES VALUE ON SECOND CALL

The relinks of Oracle binaries failed. The backout's worked and the dB's are up and running.

*** Error code 1

relink all command- How does one check and see if it is successful?   (153 Views)
General question 1) relink all...how does one check and see if relink all is successfull or what command to use to see if relink all is successful I used tar xvf 9207.tar to extract 9207.tar file in /opt/app/oracle/product/9.2.0 which Oracle Home. I had to move the binaries to /opt/app/oracle/product and was asked to run "tar xvf 9207.tar 9.2.0" instead of "tar xvf 9207.tar " 2) what's the difference between (" tar xvf 9207.tar 9.2.0") and ("tar xvf 9207.tar )

SQL*Plus errors   (280 Views)
I am having some problems with SQL*Plus app. On two different occasions with two different scripts, I have had the following error output when my scripts were connecting to SQL*Plus: This is the error output: SQL*Plus: Release 8.0.5.0.0 - Production on Sun May 6 6:0:1 2001 (c) Copyright 1998 Oracle Corporation. rights reserved. ERROR: ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel ORA-24323: value not allowed Error accessing PRODUCT_USER_PROFILE Warning: Product user profile information not loaded! You may need to run PUPBLD.SQL as SYSTEM ORA-24323: value not allowed Error accessing package DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO ERROR: ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE Use of Oracle SQL feature not in SQL92 Entry Level. SQL> Disconnected from Oracle8 Enterprise Edition Release 8.0.5.0.0 - Production PL/SQL Release 8.0.5.0.0 - Production This has happened when my cold backup script tries to connect to the database. My cold backup calls a sql file that gets all the info to do a complete cold backup and the sql file generates a shell script that does the actually cold backup. Today, I got the same error output when I was testing a DB monitoring process. Again, it was connecting to SQL*Plus to run a sql file when the error output occurred. I have ran the PUPBLD.sql, as it suggested in the output, but it hasn't seemed to help. I have looked at the error codes and they don't tell me a lot. I don't know if I need to reload the app or what at this point.

This error comes up after the server (and database) crashes. I do not receive this when I shutdown cleanly. Do I need to worry about recovering the datafile mentioned or is this another issue
